Earlier this year, Apex Legends celebrated its third anniversary with a big event where players could earn tons of skins, culminating in a prestige skin for Bloodhound. Along the way to this prestige skin, Apex Legends offered a series of legendary skins, designed in part with the help of Apex content creators.

One of these creators was Lindsay “LuluLuvely” who helped create the colorful Watson and Mirage skins, as well as the yellow and purple skins for the R-301 Carbine. According to Lulu, the plan was for Apex to work with streamers to compensate them for the third anniversary hype event, which would be mutually beneficial. It just didn’t turn out that way. In a clip shared by DrUnafraid, Lulu said EA changed the deal just a day before the event started.

“I wish it was actually called the Lulu 301 Skin. I wasn’t involved in the naming process,” Lulu commented. “We have not received any compensation or anything for this skin.”

Not only did Lulu not receive any compensation, all the credit the content creators received came in the form of a blog post on the Apex Legends website mentioning the streamers who helped create the third anniversary skins, but that was all. As previously reported by PCGamesN, Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona said that EA has very little communication with the Apex creators.

“EA has been telling us for months, ‘These are going to be creator skins, it’s your skin’, and then the day before release, EA said, ‘Yes, your name will not be associated with this skin at all, and you you won’t get any money for the skin either. [you helped design]or recognition,'” Lulu added in the clip above.

That wasn’t the only controversy to arise as part of the event’s third anniversary. The Prestige Bloodhound skin was also the center of a firestorm after fans found out that it would cost $164 to get the skin since it also required you to collect all 24 Legendary skins. Fans initially called for a boycott, but it fell off after EA made the skin available for 150 Heirloom Shards after the event.
