Blizzard announces more details about Overwatch 2 Season 2

Blizzard has revealed more details about the content of the second season of Overwatch 2.

Earlier this month it was already announced that the new season would incorporate a new tank, Ramattra, and that the start date was set for December 6.

Now, in a new post on the official website, the company has offered more information ahead of next week’s launch.

Along with Ramattra will come a new Escort map called Shambali Monastery. The map pool will also be refreshed with Rialto and Blizzard World, while Hollywood and Observatory: Gibraltar will be removed.

Blizzard has promised new changes to improve playable balance, with adjustments to heroes like Kiriko, Mercy, and Doomfist. The developers added that “stats and player feedback show that Sojourn is dominating the higher competitive levels, but is still a challenge for players without the same mechanical qualities. To address the higher level feedback, we will focus on the lethality of her ranged railgun heading into Season 2, so we’ll encourage players to take advantage of Sojourn’s high mobility to close distance and activate the devastating right click.”

This year Winter Wonderland will return, too. The event will start on December 13 and end on January 4. A day later, on January 5, Battle for Olympus will begin, an event tied to the theme of the season – Greek mythology – which ends on January 19. Finally, on January 17, the Lunar New Year event will return, ending on February 1.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 will be available starting December 6. Your Premium battle pass will cost 1,000 Overwatch coins (around ten euros to change).
