Bridgerton season 3 release date: What should be released on Netflix?

As we prepare for possible news on the debut date of Bridgerton Season 3 from Netflix, we of course have a lot to think about. We could say exactly the same of the streaming service.

While it’s fair to assume you’re going to see the return of period drama at some point in 2023, there’s a lot of nuance that comes with trying to figure that out. Remember, there are so many important decisions to make in terms of months, competition, and how to set the stage for the future of the series. After all, there shouldn’t be too big of a gap between the seasons!

As Netflix ponders its premiere date decision, we tend to think its top priority will be subscriber continuity. By that, we mostly mean that they’re not going to launch Season 3 too close to another of their big hits. They want people to keep paying for the service for as long as possible, rather than signing up, watching all they want in a month, and then walking away. For now, we tend to think Bridgerton will come out after shows like The Witcher and Virgin River, but before Squid Game and Stranger Things. (Both of these series likely won’t return until 2024, at the earliest).

We also tend to think that Netflix will do their best to space out this series and its Queen Charlotte spin-off. There’s probably a clear recognition here that they can use the former to make people wait for the latter.

Above all, it’s important to remember this: Netflix wants Bridgerton to succeed. They’re going to find the best place to do it, though the unfortunate reality is that it may not be until summer or even fall of next year.
