Deus Ex Go and three other mobile games from the former Square Enix Montreal – Arena Battle Champions, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows and Space Invaders: Hidden Heroes – will shut down for good on January 4th. They will be removed from digital stores, both the App Store and Google Play, on December 1, and the services will be closed forever a month later.

The decision was made this morning by the Embracer Group, the new owner of the studio and the licences.

Deus Ex Go is, however, the only game in the set that is not free-to-play. Right now, it is still available on both the App Store and Google Play, at a price of €5.99, and without any warning that it will stop working soon. On January 4th, all four games will be completely inaccessible forever, even for users who have already downloaded or purchased them.

The official Twitter of the developer, now renamed Studio Onoma, urges players to use their in-game purchases before next January 4. The option to make new purchases has been deactivated today.

Embracer bought Square Enix’s western studios, including Square Enix Montreal, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, later this August.

Square Enix Montreal had announced last month that it had gone through a rebranding and name change process. However, just two weeks later, Embracer announced its closure.
