One of the biggest innovations in the games is the phenomenon called Tera-Crystallization, which can make a Pokémon’s STAB moves much more powerful than usual.

All Pokémon in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson are able to use Teracrystallization, but these abilities must be charged at a Pokémon Center after each use. Tapping into a Pokemon’s Tera type isn’t instant either, but it doesn’t take too long for the ability to unlock.

How to use Teracrystallization in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson

To get teracrystallization in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson, you must first make your way to the Grape Academy in Mesalona City make. Once there, you get your first glimpse of tera-crystallization during a battle with Nemila, and she promises to teach it how at the end of the battle.

After going through the gate, look around and then head up the stairs to the school, where you’ll run into some Team Star bullies. Once you defeat the first, Nemila will appear and give the player a Tera Crystal Orb, a special item needed to give a Pokémon Tera Crystallization.

You are then thrown into battle with the other Team Star Bullies and shown how to deal with the Teracrystal Orb Teracrystallization can apply. To do this, players just need to press the R button or hover the cursor over the option teracrystallization to the left of the Pokémon’s attacks, and then press the A button to toggle teracrystallization on or off.

The icon above the lettering tells you the Active Pokémon’s Tera type if you don’t already know it, and lets you choose a move that makes the most of Tera Crystallization. After choosing an attack of the right type, you will get an animation and the strength of the attack will be increased.

Unfortunately, the Tera Crystal Orb needs to be recharged between uses, so you have to be careful when you use it and on which Pokémon. To recharge the Tera Crystal Orb, it’s enough to visit a Pokémon Center and heal yourself or sleep in a bed, so do it whenever the opportunity presents itself.
