There’s no doubt about it: the next Netflix Original is already shaping up to be phenomenal. Entitled Kaleidoscope (formerly called Jigsaw) it will radically change the way we approach watching a series! We explain why in this article!

Kaleidoscope: a non-linear series? kesoko?

Kaleidoscope could not better bear its name since the subscribers of the platform of streaming who choose to view this series will also be able to decide in which order they will do so. Never seen ! This anthology series criminals will therefore adopt a novel and non-linear approach to storytelling which will arouse our curiosity (much like when we discovered the first interactive programs a few years ago).

Thus, viewers will be able to live each in their own way a different immersive viewing experience with a unique intrigue and suspense. The principle is simple: some members will have the opportunity to start with certain episodes (such as the “Yellow” or “Green” episodes), then go further in their own personal viewing order with different episodes (“Blue” or “Purple” or “Orange”, followed by “Red” or “Pink”) until the epic story finale “White: The Heist”.

As it happens, all viewers will eventually see all the episodes, but the order in which they watch the episodes will affect their perspective on the story, the characters, and the questions and answers at the heart of the heist. Nice this kaleidoscope effect, isn’t it?

What is the Kaleidoscope series about?

If for the moment it is still too early to enjoy a first full official trailer, Netflix has however already released a first video extract and a synopsis which reads as follows:

Spanning 25 years, Kaleidoscope (previously titled Jigsaw) is an all-new anthology series that follows a team of masterful thieves and their attempt to crack a seemingly unbreakable safe for the biggest payday in history. Guarded by the world’s most powerful corporate security team and with law enforcement on the case, each episode reveals one piece of an elaborate puzzle of corruption, greed, revenge, intrigue , loyalties and betrayals. How did the team of thieves plan it? Who gets away with it? Who can we trust?

A series inspired by real events

Kaleidoscope is loosely based on a real event where seventy billion dollars worth of bonds vanished in midtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy.

When will ‘Kaleidoscope’ be released on Netflix?

The series which will consist of eight episodes sera available on Netflix from January 1, 2023. A nice faceted gift that we look forward to giving ourselves to start the year 2023 in style and which should also allow robbery enthusiasts to wait until the broadcast of Berlina spin-off series from La Casa de papel whose date has not yet been revealed.
