Wednesday: the creators are already talking about season 2
“The Thing will become a TikTok star in season 2!” have fun the showrunners.
While she has been exploding Netflix audiences for a week, Wednesday is not yet certain to return with a season 2. But showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar reveal to Variety that they are already working on the sequel.
“Yes, we already have the structure of season 2. We always look to the future, and when we create a series, we consider it over several seasons. It’s never guaranteed… but you always have to present at least three or four seasons of potential stories for the characters. It can evolve and change, so it’s got to be open enough, to be able to evolve the scripts in a natural way, but yeah, we certainly have pretty clear leads as to what we want to do in future seasons.”
Why is Wednesday Addams called that?
For example, the authors of Wednesday already know they want to bring Tyler’s character back. The “Hyde” should be from season 2: “Ah yes, absolutely. He’s still here in our world. That’s what we wanted to send as a message at the end of season 1…”
A final that also saw Wednesday get his first laptop. So will she be texting and surfing TikTok in Season 2? “She’s more likely to throw that phone out the window at the first opportunity. I don’t think she’s ever used a phone in her life. I think she may be vaguely tempted or amused by this idea… but then she’s going to reject it. Besides, it’s The Thing who actually takes the phone. He’s the one who will become a TikTok star in season 2!”
