Like its competitors like Netflix, Prime Video or even Disney +, Apple TV + has indeed planned to pamper its subscribers. And if the platform streaming does not always shine by its number of programs, it never skimps on quality.

This month of december will be marked by Emancipationa film about slavery carried by Will Smith but also by the return of the anthology series Little America. The Spy Series Slow Horses will also return in a second season that will still star Gary Oldman.

“Emancipation” tells the triumphant story of Peter (Will Smith), a man who escaped from slavery, relying on his wits, unwavering faith and deep love for his family to escape the Bloodhunters -cold and unforgiving swamps of Louisiana in his quest for freedom. The film is inspired by the 1863 photos of “Whipped Peter”, taken during a Union Army medical examination, which were first published in Harper’s Weekly. One image, known as ‘The Scourged Back’, which shows Peter’s bare back maimed by a whipping inflicted by his slavers, ultimately contributed to growing public opposition to slavery.”
