Gumi naturally spawn in the swamp and lake biomes of the overworld, and can be encountered in 3-star Tera Raid battles. They can usually be found in Eastern Province (Zone 3), Southern Province (Areas 1, 3, 4 and 5), Western Province (Zone 3) and Mount Glaseado at any time of the day.

As a Dragon-type Pokémon, Gumi has weak Ice, Fairy, and Dragon-type moves and takes less damage from Fire, Water, Electric, and Grass-type moves. Since he takes damage from normal-type moves and has strong Pokemon usage, False Swipe is also a surefire way to weaken him without accidentally knocking him out.
